How sweet it is

The Sweet Talk Awards raise awareness of diabetes – Australia’s fastest-growing chronic condition – by celebrating the achievements of those affected by it. Categories include the young achiever, teen achiever, adult achiever, senior achiever, carer and healthcare professional of the year. The winners will be announced on World Diabetes Day, November 14. Nominations are open at sweettalkdiabetes.com.au until August 31.

Lunch with the ladies

The CWA Hampton Branch is holding a soup and sandwich luncheon. Come along and learn more about the Country Women’s Association. The luncheon begins at noon at the Uniting Church Hall, Service Street, Hampton. Book before August 8 by calling 9598 0700 or 9555 5863.

The Chocolate Rush is coming to Melbourne. The top 20 finalists in a model search for the Face of the 2011 BMW Caulfield Cup Carnival will be presented and judged next to the Lindt Cafe at Chadstone Shopping Centre next weekend.
